Description

Sometimes, when making art, we're encouraged to release the speedy desire for it to be right, right away. There's a sense of expression unfolding and becoming. Inquisitiveness and discovery begin to take place. Something fresh and spontaneous occurs. Performance can begin to feel less heavy handed and there's a sense of genuine delight beginning to take place.

Other times, it's regarded as something to get done. In an environment in which we're constantly sold to, it seems we must sell back or perish. We tinker on the image or concept of ourselves as an artists. The prospect of having a genuine connection to a practice fades back.

When the work is plentiful, when it's scarce, when you'd like to make contact with practice- let's gather. Rather than waiting for that space to be granted to us, let's be in it. Bring your poem, your text, your speech, your monologue, your scenes, your voice, yourself.
